Specialist Care

There are several local doctors’ practices nearby. Many of the people who come to live at Sandrock House prefer to keep their own family doctor, which we encourage. If this is not practical, residents can register with one of the local practices. Professional nursing tasks are carried out by a team of local District Nurses, who visit Sandrock House at the request of doctors.

There are local dentists, opticians and chiropodists. Even if a resident becomes very frail, we will continue to provide quality care. If more specialised care is necessary, the doctor may advise a hospital admission, but we would expect people to return to us as soon as the need for hospital is over.
